After the recent plane crashes in Nigeria, there was so much noise from the Nigerian govt about immediate reforms and upgrade of facilities especially weather reporting/forcasts and upgrade of the navigation facilities, installation of tracon, etc.

I want to to ask Those that fly nigerian airspace whether indeed there have been any changes apart from the reneovation of the domestic wing of abuja airport that i have seen? I mean changes in navigational facilities, etc?

I was flying there some 30 years ago. Very few navaids or even lights that time. I assume that things are much better today.

Hay guys,

Where are we, its africa! what do you all expect. Paper work at the NACAA takes months to do and the personal are allways on leave or out! So what would you all like..... a perfect world? NO WAYS, not in Nigeria!

And if all does work, what does one do with the big birds that make nice dents on the leading edges?? Have about 2 birdstrikes a day!

But in all, we fly in Africa, come and join its great!
