I'm new to this forum and I am looking for training advice.I have a few hours on fixed wing but recently took a half hour trial lesson on a heli and just loved it.I'm 32 and want to start my JAA PPL(H) this year, with a view to going commercial next year.I was looking at doing the JAA PPL at "HAI" in Florida and then coming home, doing a few hours to get used to the Irish system, and starting a JAA distance learning course from the UK.After sitting the JAA exams in the UK, going back to the states to do the hour building+CPL+instructor course.
Im just wondering if this is a good way of doing it and also what other ways are there to hour build cheaply? What are the chances of getting a job at the end? Has anybody been to HAI or know much about them? Can anybody recommend a good distance learning course?
I would appreciate any advice from those guys that have been through the whole thing....thanks very much.
