I have just spoken to one of the US suppliers to get a price on the Rockwell recommended Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens. Before I had finished speaking, the guy said that it had been recalled.

The normal price on this is around $899,( that is the blackmail price...RRP $699!) and KR waxed lyrical about it. Anyone heard if this is true, or did he just want to sell me a $375 Tamron substitute http://www.century21electronics.com/prodetails.asp?prodid=312625&display=1

If it is true anyone know why it was called back?

I've been waiting for that lens to come into stock for ages now.

Maybe they are right ....

Cant see anything on here about this ..

If it was recalled that forum would know about it!

Sounds like he was trying to sell you the Tamron!

Just seen this that 'suggests' a recall ..??

Now I'm REALLY confused. :confused:

Just when I'd convinced myself that it was quite simply the best thing in the world I could buy. :}

It IS !!!!

Don't worry about what they say on dpreview forums ... their will always be the odd geek who lokks at every picture with a magnifying glass and picks holes in any lens under £4000 ....

Have a look at this review ....
