This is the news from the BBC, SKY, ITN et al:.

"The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today, The Queen is 80 today...."..

How come my dear old gran never got wall to wall coverage when she celebrated her 80th last year:confused:.

There is other news today, i presume?.

Oh, hang on, there is: riots in Nepal, Iraqi unrest, a 7.7 earthquake in Asiatic Russia, riots in the Solomon Islands and apparently childhood obesity has doubled in the last 10 years..

And now a 'friend' has say she won't abdicate.
Poor Charles. It's always the children who get hurt. :hmm:

I'd call social services.

From an old lady's birthday to a row over distilled drink is pretty impressive thread creep.

But hey, you've got to look out for Charles, he's got the Duchy of Cornwall to manage, er, no, his manager would look after that, and selling his own trees to himself for logging, no that would be his managing company, and his mum's getting on. She may have to move to a pensioners home, like Windsor Castle.
Which would expensive, but I'm sure we can all chip in, monthly.

He's got it rough, poor old Chuck.

Well the headline news when I switched on this morning was about some goon who used up his whole year's CO2 quota flying to the North Pole in a bizjet to observe a melting glacier.

Something which seems not to have been picked up on Pprune, unless I've missed something.
