excel , days and dates

given a spread sheet with a list of dates only
eg
22/04/05 - day unknown
25/04/05 - day unknown
etc
etc
etc
Is there a formula which would calculate the days for each of those dates, just to save looking them up on an old calender. thanks

=TEXT(A2, "dddd") Calculates the day of the week for the date and returns the full name of the day of the week (Monday)
=TEXT(A3, "ddd") Calculates the day of the week for the date and returns the abbreviated name of the day of the week (Thu)
Put the above in a cell where you want the reults to be, A2 being the cell where 22/04/05 is.
