Can anyone recommend a site for getting cheap calls abroad from the UK to Oz(using a normal landline).

I've stumbled across one called FirstNumber.co.uk - 3p per minute to Oz....can anyone beat that, or better still; have any horror 'Do Not Use' stories?

Telediscount.co.uk - to call Oz dial 0844 861 86 86 (1p/min) and then enter the full number (inc intl code), press # and wait for the person to answer.

Skype is free if you and the other end have high speed internet. If only you do it's $.021 to Australia/minute, about 1.7P. You have to buy a USB phone or headset. I got a real nice one for $25.

I call home from all over the world for zero cost.

Been using www.nitro-telecoms.co.uk for calling Oz and NZ for about a year now. 3p per min. Dial 0844 988 4200; as soon as the recorded message starts dial the full international number ie 0061 * **** **** for oz. comes up as a 3ppm call on the 0844 number on the bill. No worries.

if you get the new talk talk, calls to landlines in australia are free for the first 70 minutes.

i think its 20.99 a month for broadband and telephone inc line rental.

can't get much cheaper than that.
