Hi All,

Has anyone heard of any flights being operated from the UK (or Europe) to Baghdad in the near future. Air Scotland were thinking about operating from Stansted, it but nothing has been mentioned for nearly a year now.

Thanks

BMED is BA's designated carrier to Iraq. When it is safe, they are likely to start flights there.

As in I think BMED holds the route licences or something. The security team is constantly monitoring Iraq for potential service, the same as Afghanistan.

I hardly think that they need rely on security reports the likelyhood of the route restarting in the next few years is remote. There would be a lot of money to be made on it which mainline BA will take not BMED.

AELAD - Dont think your source of info is too reliable - small matter of aircraft size / passenger loads/ freight requirements rules Bmed out in favour of Big Airways and Big Aircraft
