Have seen a couple of reports of Titan 146-200s with Scot Airways titles. Anyone know if Scot are wet-leasing the aircraft for this summer again as they did last year? And if so on which routes?

No is your answer. The trial last year was a massive embarrassment to the company, I mean who does a trial for three weeks with a fuel hungry aircraft during a not so busy month and this is the best part Don't even advertise it till the day of operation. Scotairways are being punished on the Edi-Lcy route and are only surviving on the handouts of BS which im sure will only last so long.

Yes maybe Brian Souter did give handouts to SA a while back, airline has now turned itself around as is in profit. Loads are good, yes i think they made a mistake with 146, could have utilised better.

I spoke to an engineer for SA, he was saying that they have a contract with a lot of the premier league teams for charters, so maybe thats wheer that are making the money ?

This info is semi accurate regarding football teams but this does come at considerable disruption to scheduled sevices which is a Big NO NO!. Rather often have I shown up for 4 sectors only to find the middle 2 have bin canx and the aircraft is going on a charter. VERY VERY STUPID as once we loose are regulars we are fecked.:\

Did it ever cross your mind that flights are being non-opt because its EASTER!!! Or maybe another major school holliday!!!!! This happens every year.... :8

The company may not make as much money as they hoped, but they are making money.

STOP BEING SO F:mad: ING NEGATIV!!!!!

I had heard that ScotAirways were looking to merge with flybe, and take on more routes - north of EDI/GLA...

they are a weak airline. my prediction is bust or re-investment in expansion - or else they will be eaten alive...if only ryanair were able to land at LCY - and the charges cheap enough- what a rip off

Not sure but did they not expand quite quickly before 911 and then as they say it all went pear shaped. They have been getting pressure from Dundee for expanding routes, but all they did was drop a sunday rotation instead, which is a bit confusing as they loads were close to full ?

I can reassure peeps that ScotAirways will never reintroduce the BAe146 back into the schedule service.
It was possibly the biggest mistake that the company made.... the Commercial manager thought it was brilliant... in June... the quietest month...
No wonder that people are leaving so fast......
I left a long time ago and I feel sorry for the company but knowing the history of the senior management then im glad that ive moved on..... I met many great people but no longer look over my shoulder wondering if I was going to be me redundant.

Can't really see any reason why. CB seem to regard the D328 perfect for the type of flights they do. Jet aren't seen as required for routes which are relatively short, and the capacity of the D328 is ideal for the 'small and frequent' business model they seem to favour, as well as the considerable number of football team charter flights they operate.

I have also heard from the "horses mouth" or more to point "horses jockey" that sa are looking at emb 135/145. Not sure if there is any definated truth in rumour but i do know that sa have been looking to change to jet for some considerable time.
