Hi all,

Just wondered if any of you bright sparks could remind me of the definition of the following - Variable Load, Traffic Load, Disposable Load, Basic Weight, Dry Operating weight.

Its been a while,........ and I think my notes/files went to be recycled!! :}

Thanks
FP

Variable Load - Crew, Crew Baggage, Special Equipment, Food, Water, Bar, Sliced Lemons for the G&T's & Twiglets

Traffic Load - Passengers, Passenger Baggage and Freight (aka TL that doesn't complain)

Disposable Load - Traffic Load + Loaded Fuel

Basic Empty Mass - The thing with wings (aka aircraft)

Dry Operating Mass - Basic Empty Mass + Variable Load
(not to be confused with Operating Mass which is as above + Fuel)

Another two you need are:

Zero Fuel Mass = BEM + TL + VL or All Up Weight (aka MTOM) - Fuel

All Up Weight (Maximum Take Off Mass) - BEM + VL + TL + Fuel or DOM + DL
