Tackar

That's a new one, never heard about a bond if you already have the type :hmm:

Try the Asian forum and you might find something about this.

Good luck!

Ehh, to me it sounds just like a new way to screw us pilots...
A pilot shortage is coming up in Asia, they know it and desperatly want you to stay for 4 years.
If I get it right you actually pay a bond for 200000 Skr, on top of that they deduct 72000 Skr/per year, adding up to more than 480000 Skr! I say no way mate. What is your guarantee that they even are existing in 4 years? It is starting to become the pilots market, just tell them that you do not accept that contract and want a knew one.

:hmm: ,....who would that be!?!? :hmm:
But, I s'pose he/she's got time on type then? Right?:confused:
Or has a substantial amount of TT?!
...which I don't, by the way...:{
To return to topic;
I would definately not go to Asia and bond for 4 years on some, probably dodgy(best case scenario), contract worth absolutely S-Q-U-A-T should things turn sour. Never, never , ever!!!
Or as they say up there in Tornedalen; Aalllldrikk!!!

BE,
Care to PM me about this friend of yours?

well, mr An2...

Me friend did have a few hours TT but no type (well, a type, but not the type). Got the type paid, and 3 months notice and no bond. figure that one out. he probably slept with someone in management...:}

btw. he's not the one you think he is...I do have more than one...:E ...and the type on that contract wont help you in your quest...:uhoh:

What does the first post say?

NZLeardriver,

Some help needed at the first post!

RS has bought a type rating (most likely B737) and got an "offer" from an Asian carrier (most likely Air Asia).

They want 4 years bond on 25k even though RS already has the type on the licence. The bond is for refresher and company courses.

The pay is ok but they'll take 800usd/month for 4 years from your pay check which you'll get back after the contract is done.

Is this something RS should do??

RS wonder if this is a normal procedure and needs some more information!!

Thanks

Thanks JR.

Sounds like a scam.
I thought Air Asia didn't pay that much to begin with. Which airline RS?
He might get more info posting in english on the Far East section.

Simple answer RS, DONT DO IT!!

The industry in Asia are so short of pilots that they shouldnt get enough pilots to bite on these type of scams!:mad:

If you have a type then I'm sure any agency will be happy to take you on. I work for Parc and they are screaming for pilots in Asia. The Asian country I'm based in are short of pilots now but expect an even bigger shortage in 2009.
It's a long way from home but if you get the right contract with good T&C's then it's all good.

Keep your head cool and wait until they offer you the contract YOU want!:ok:

Kanpai!!

Just look att the figures: Emirates has ordered 45 A380 and is planning to double their entire fleet by 2012!
Our time will come, just hang in there!

In the meantime, don't sell your soul.. At this moment, airlines will do anything to get you to sign rotten contracts.

Don't work for free!
Stand together as one on this point!

Or am I to strict? :confused:

What's a good way to approach those Chinese airlines? Many of them have their websites in Chinese (not much info in English). I'm interested in FO position in China, but I only have 300h TT. Any opportunities in there for low hour pilots? Any turboprob jobs?
