PIA are simulating a ‘major incident’ at KHI. According to the local newspapers, 4 major hospitals and all the emergency services are involved in the exercise. Here is the extract from PIA’s website:
PK-9999 Accident
Karachi, Tuesday, April 18, 2006
Pakistan International Airlines regrets to confirm that one of its aircraft A-310, operating Pk-9999 from Karachi to Lahore was involved in an accident at 0930 hours PST.
Although no further details of the accident are available at the moment and information is being gathered, there are 186 passengers and 28 crew members on board.
PIA has setup an emergency response center at PIA Training Center for further information please contact PIA call center or refer to PIA web site.
