Importing .pst files from a PC to a Mac

Hello there,
I recently switched to a Mac, and am enjoying learning a new sysem (still can't understand why there isn't a right hand click on the touch-pad!).
One thing that has really stumped me is importing my old .pst files. I had been running Outlook on my PC and have all my .pst files backed up on the Mac hard drive.
The Mac (a PowerBook G4) is installed with Entourage, but Entourage does not have an import tool that recognizes .pst files.
There is a .pst import tool for Entourage that I downloaded from Microsoft. However, this only allows import of .pst files if they were written in Outlook 2001 for Mac (which mine were not - they were created in regular Microsoft Outlook on my PC).
I'm sure that it is not meant to be this difficult but have now run out of ideas. I wondered if any of you out there had any advice, suggestions or solutions?

You don't say which version of Outlook.

but it'll cost you $10 - considering the hassles otherwise, it's probably worth it and that's the way I'd go.

Good Morning Mac,
Fantastic piece of advice - really appreciate it. I tried the littlemachines people - great piece of software that crunched all my old files and data into something that the Mac understands (although I have no idea why the Mac wouldn't be set up to do this already).
From what I can see, the vast majority of the files were converted properly. Some look as though they are still in code, but I suppose this is to be expected.
I've had the PowerBook for about a year now. Just bought another laptop - a Sony Vaio VGN-TX2HP. I confess that IMHO the Sony is a far superior machine. Better screen, better battery, more intuitive. A shame, because I really wanted to love the Apple. However, I am not giving up - I will continue to plug away and try to learn to love it!
