O18 - Protocol: AutorunsDisabled - (no CLSID) - (no file)

Can anyone throw any light on above HijackThis entry; more so because it will not 'Fix' within the program, just reappears on scan?

No luck with usual searches, just brings up everyone else's similar entry in various logs with no explanation. Some vague references as usual with all these subjects that it could be all sorts of ominous things, but computer fully firewalled/viused/spywared, etc. Autoruns all working OK.

Thanks in anticipation.

Could be be a reference to Sysinternal's Autoruns?

http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Autoruns.html

- "This utility, which has the most comprehensive knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup or login, and shows you the entries in the order Windows processes them."

Or something else?

Edited to add:

Have a look at - http://www.sysinternals.com/Forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4360

Mac . . . . .

That was a very well aimed direct hit!

Sometimes the answer is staring you in the face. ...So convinced that it related to a Windows AutoRun problem (even more embarrassing, since it's just dawned on me that it's called AutoPlay) I didn't even think of Sysinternal's AutoRuns. ...I have this program on my laptop and the disabling of some autoruns will create a backup folder that results in the HijackThis entry. ...Point proved by reversing the the procedure: no entry.

Many thanks; very grateful.
