View Full Version : Continuously Re-sending the same Emails

Outlook has started continually re-sending the same email. Normally it's emails with attachments up to or exceeding 1mb in size.
.
It's possibly happening because the email isn't being moved to the sent bin.
.
Anybody have any ideas on causation?

Is that the same "same" email or any new ones several times?

I had something like this happening when I had the "send & receive frequency" set to 1 minute in Outlook Express.

Think that when I right-clicked on a photo and elected to send as an eMail the "1 minute timer" would expire whilst it was only half gone and send another copy. If you were on dial up rather than broadband this could loop sending multiple copies?

Fix for me was to change the timer to 5 minutes (Tools Options is Outlook Express) and it hasn't happened since.

It's only in Outlook (I don't use OE)

It seems restricted to emails with large attachments

The same email will stay in the OUTBOX and get retransmitted again and again. You can imagine the angst of the recipients......

A few such emails cannot be deleted from the outbox (and not because they're being transmitted - autosend/sched send/receive is off). However the same emails can be moved (back to DRAFTS say) and then deleted.

All very annoying.
