Hi. After going up the pay scales of the new contract at BA for the last 8 yrs I am on approx. 15,000.00 a year as my basic and earn very good allowances per trip. Our scheduling is a fair share system not based on seniority or bidding systems. So your looking at a monthly wage of around 1600.00 in the bank on a good month and maybe 12-1400.00 on a bad one.

Hiya K, I assume you're LHRLH????

Why not? Don't you think that's quite good?

£2.30 per hour seems to me to be the rate for every hour away from home, not just those in the air. I'd be happy with £2.30 per hour (or atleast for longhaul trips).

You'd certainly need to get a longhaul a month, I'd assume, to make a decent wage but doubt that it would be a problem getting that. Maybe Crib will confirm.

plus crew earn the following when flying:

12% commission on onboard sales ie drinks, snacks and tax free goods

Monarch Airlines

starting basic is over 8 grand

To the american question, 2.30 gbp was our old hourly wage it has gone up and so has our long haul, it was 2.97 gbp. went to mombasa this month and received 565 gbp.

I have been at monarch for four yrs now my basic is around 12500. I have been averaging two trips a month over the winter season so my wage including trip allowances per month is around 1800.

If any one asked me a question that I havent answered please let me know.:ok:
