The "Moathouse crime" was just shown on crimewatch and the female police detective leading the investigation described the crook as having a "military accent". So just what sort of an accent do we have? And do you lot have an alibi? (I'm off the hook, the crook was also described as "barrel-chested", whereas I'm much more of your barrel-bellied...)

Was that "Officer"/"SNCO"/"JNCO" or "OR" accent?

Was it Male or Female?

English/Scottish/Welsh/Irish?

Dominions/former Colonies?

Any chance of them being more specific?

This is the description from the BBC Crimewatch Website...........

The intruder was described as being about 1.8m (6ft) tall, with a prominent barrel chest, light footed; he spoke with an almost military authority in a non-descript northern accent. He was wearing all black converse trainers.

So a non descript Northern accent not a military accent...................

Ratty, that's the website, not what was said on the programme.... On the programme it was clearly described as a "military accent".

Police found a guy who had gone AWOL on the beach in Ibiza last year. First thing they said was,

"You are in the Navy aren't you?"

The reply was,

"Negative!"

Eliminate the Impossible, as Poirot says....

6ft - therefore not a Sea Harrier Pilot
Wearing Trainers - therefore not Sqn Ldr or above
Light on feet - Definitely NOT a WAF then

Getting closer to the culprit.
