As a Cathay Pacific wannabee, I wanna ask a question before I get too far.
I have been holder of an American ATP since 1986. I am 45 years of age.
I recently developed a condition with "borderline high blood pressure" and was prescribed a medication with very few, to no side effects (Benicar 20mg).
I am very physically active (a runner) and have been extensively tested for heart disease or any other condition that may cause blood pressure problems. According to my family physician's diagnosis, the problem is hereditary in nature and is very common for people my age.
My question is as follows: Does this mean my wannabee hopes with CX may be in vain?
Thanks for your input,
Sky:ok:

Thanks Na:
In the meantime, I am awaiting reply from my medical examiner to see how this has played out. Since in the US, this particular issue is now at the discretion of the examiner, I am waiting word from him as to whether I am under a waiver and/or if I can get off the meds for awhile.
I think I will wait to call HK until I find out what he says. Thanks for the advice and thanks for the wish for good luck. I really don't want to fly a regional jet the rest of my career...LOL!
Though I know this question has been posed before, I welcome further input.
Thanks guys,
Sky
