Ok - maybe I've had one too many or something, BUT I'd swear I watched a 4-minute item on Sky News at 5.30 or so tonight which outlined an incident involving a Beech Air plane which lost electrics after T/O, and had to be 'helped down' by a Tornado Jet. If anyone knows where I can pick up a news item on this I'd be grateful, as I've just looked at ALL the main UK news sites incl Sky and can't find hide nor hair of anything remotely close to a report of this kind. Beginning to wonder if senility hasn't set in 60 years early!!:D

Fear not, I too saw a bit of this story on Sky earlier, and also can't find it anywhere else - you're not alone!! :\

Whew - thank goodness for that. But how on earth could such a good top story vanish from all newscasts if it ever even got put up in the first place, and if it didn't that also begs the question - why? Strange indeed. Just thought it was a pretty dramatic rescue of sorts, and was trying to find a link to fire on to a US pilot friend of mine. But maybe have to wait. Also note that there's no info on here tho either - equally strange - no??

Thanks so much for that - ironic tho it has to be the RAF reporting it and not the main press, but anyway - sorted me out for my immediate needs, and perhaps it will yet get put up on the news sites :D

Hi chaps

Anyone know who's KingAir it was. Privately owned, Scotland Air Charter or Gama etc?

Just interested as there's been a lot of KingAir movements just recently out of GLA.

Cheers

It was a privatly owned kingair, flown by a very experienced pilot. The boy? did an excellent job under very difficult circumstances. Trying to keep control of an aircraft with only an altitude readout in imc i'm glad it wasn't me. Congratulations to all involved.
