Original Japanese here (http://www.tokyo-np.co.jp/00/sya/20060323/eve_____sya_____001.shtml)

Anybody know what it is actually about?

Every newspaper article I can find seems to care about nothing more than the number of cancelled flights (115) and the number of affected passengers (7000).

115 flights were canceled , amounted to about 13% of domestic flights

The local pilots want more and ANA is expecting a huge shortage of pilots during the next few years and it will reach its peak at 2009. Just give us expats a bit better T&C and we will take it all!!:}
