My sources tell me that a large raptor came off worse, N of Benson in the Chalgove area, when involved in a mid-air with a Puma or a Merlin. Could have been a red kite, but they tend to fly at about 50', so perhaps it was a buzzard?

Red Kites are as common as pigeons hereabouts nowadays, so I'd guess it was a Kite.

At 50 feet you say? A Puma would have gone underneath it. Perhaps it was still on the nest?

Does anyone else remember 1GG's Buzzard in the ARB, 1994? No names no pack drills but he used to quote Kipling on Cougar and bollocked the CO for jogging on "moi 'elipad".

Ahh happy days, where's the remote gone AJ?

AJ's still got it! Saw him with it at EGLW about three weeks ago.

He still doesn't know how to use it!

"Ya think he doesn't, boot he does..."

To misquote the man himself.
