Hi,
I toyed with the idea of setting up a Phuket heli tour op. pre-tsunami but on contacting the DCA here I was told that to fly over any built up area requires a twin engine helicopter. So that was me out of the running! I believe that CHC flys the rigs at Songkhla in the south but don't know their website address. There is a civil aviation training centre at Hua Hin which has helicopters but foreigners can't fly there as the King's Palace is 4 ks from the end of the runway. So that's Thailand.
In Laos there is West Coast Helicopters who fly AS 350s (7 I think) and Heli Cambodia who have 2. They are both subsidieres of Heli New Zealand.
I applied to both but am woefully under qualified - new boy looking for work. They are all single pilot ops. and require 1500 minimum hours.
Hope that this helps.

These days you’d need a licence that matched the machine rego. Except for the JAA (Jerks Against Aviation?)
Ah, thats what it stands for.. It all makes sence now... :ok:
