I was wondering if anyone could tell me where I could get hold of a 747-400 ground school training disc. I am due to start on a course in a couple of months and want to do a bit of pre-course study. Any help would be much appreciated.

PMDG (http://www.precisionmanuals.com/) has just released a 744 Sim that's really worth the money.

To get a impression about the level of realism, you can download the manual from their above mentioned website.

i own an Aerowinx, it is a fabulous procedures trainer with just a postbox sized visual slot. It (mine) is a DOS based programme and I couldn't get it to run properly on XP. I see they have XP installation procedures now, so if this is fixed it will be great. Complete functioning systems.

The PMDG B744 add-on for is considerably better than the Aerowinx product, and costs a lot less! Though, of course, you need MSFS2004 and a fairly meaty computer to run it. Don't be fooled by the 'game' tag; this is a full-blown simulation of the real thing, with appropriate differences for diferent airlines' versions of the aircraft. The aircraft systems are modelled in great depth, and all EICAS warnings and procedures are included. As ColeTrickle says, download the manual and have a look for yourself.

I have a few thousand hours on the B747 (200, not 400), and I can vouch for its authenticity.
