I did read something somewhere that Inverness said they were the fourth busiest airport for GA flights. Wondered if it was true, Dundee though quiet most of the time is also busy with GA traffic.

Fourth busiest in Scotland maybe, but I would think that's about it

Depends if you're talking IFR only, VFR only or mixed.

If you're talking about a GA Airport as in one with no scheduled passenger traffic, then Biggin Hill has to be in the top 3. Maybe Shoreham (although this does have scheduled passenger flights), Cambridge or Southend.

Does Farnborough have schedule traffic? That must be pretty high in the GA stakes - and Oxford????

Farnborough is not permitted scheduled flights due to local authority planning restrictions, but it must come pretty high in the list for IFR business movements although the same planning restrictions allow a limit of only 28,000 movements pa.
Biggin is certainly extremely busy, but with mixed IFR/VFR traffic, but (according to my info) fewer business movements than Farnborough.
I would also guess Cranfield is busier than Cambridge or Southend.

Heathrow has to be well up there!!
You often see a Tomahawk spaced in amongst the heavies......:ok:
