Hey guys,
Im hoping to come over to NZ for some heli flying. Do you know if my class 2 uk medical is valid over there, or will I need to have one on arrival.

Cheers guys.

You will need to get a NZ Class 2 which you can get here - there are a few docs who issue them here see www.caa.govt.nz and find the list or get it in NZ where it will be cheaper, the UK one makes no difference. Your heli school will know a local Doc.

Enjoy NZ, fantastic place to fly

Flying in NZ is indeed fantastic, try and get down to the South Island if you can.

If time is an issue, you could get an NZ Class 2 issued by the CAA Aeromedical Centre at Gatwick (not too far from you), which according to the list of charges I have in front of me is £119. It took a week for me to get the piece of plastic from the AME in Queenstown (and I had to get a separate eye test), so bear that in mind if time will be tight for you.
