Hello everyone!

I'm new here and just starting out in aviation, with my ultimate goal being to live and fly out of Hong Kong! I have just 70 lowly hours and a private pilot license, but by the end of the year I should be a flight instuctor and working my way up in flight time...

So knowing that I'll be looking for a direct entry 2nd officer position, could someone tell me what the best/quickest way of getting to this goal is? I've read on Cathay's site that they require just 1,000 hours to apply, and this seems extremely low to me. What are the more realistic numbers, in terms of total flight time and turbine time if applicable, I should be looking to achieve?

And lastly, assuming I progress as expected and fly around 800 to 1,000 hours a year as a flight instructor or regional airline officer, how long do you think it'll take me to get to Hong Kong?

Thanks in advance! :)
