1TIME has withdrawn its franchise agreement with 1time Zambia Ltd following the Zambian Department of Transport’s decision not renewed the 1time Zambia Air Service Permit. This has effectively put an end to the airline’s planned flights to Lusaka, which were meant to launch today.
At the same time, 1time announced plans to begin flights from Johannesburg to Bloemfontein on March 16, making it the first low-cost carrier to service the route.
The airline will fly seven times a week with one return flight on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and two return flights Fridays and Sundays.
“Although Bloemfontein is considered a small route, we expect to grow the market similarly to the way we grew the East London market,” said marketing director Rodney James.
Tickets will be on sale from February 28 and one-way fares start at R369 all inclusive.
Does anybody have an idea as to why this didnt come off? Interesting to see the move to BFN, CE tried this briefly a few years ago with poor results and pulled the route very quickly.
