Norty ape! I haven't had a pancake in over 20 years at least. But ultra-thin ones with lemon and castor sugar filling are remembered with fondness. :(
But I never know what to give up for lent :(
One year the boss (earthly) asked me what I was giving up.
I told him I was giving up giving things up for Lent.
He looked pensive for a while, and just said "And?"
Sharp cookie, that.

Our chef in Bujumbura used to grate lemon rind into his pancake batter.
Brilliant!:ok:

Exactly as I do 'em (thanks mum). Got three of my daughter's friends around this evening so a double portion of batter will have to be made.
I like Pancake Day.:)

Well the ceiling does need a re-paint. Trying to get them to unstick is the tactical problem.
surely not

This is a definite down side of working abroad, especially where I am. Most unlikely to get a pancake tonight but will probably get lots of texts from the family telling me how much they are enjoying theirs:{ :{
Definitely a highlight of the year.................. haven't a clue what to give up for lent though........

Any suggestions for a savoury, main-meal pancake dish? Spicy is fine, shouldn't too much resemble spag. bol. (had that last night).

Don't you mean tactile problem?

Slight thread creep, but a belated Happy Mardi Gras to y'all.
Large areas of New Orleans remain devastated, but the important parts are back. Great for the city - and quite moving to see so many people in areas that were desolate five months ago. Didn't see a single pancake alas, but the fried catfish tasted good as ever.
Now if anyone has advice on how to de-pickle my liver, I'm all ears... :D
