Hello. .When is Mama Air due to start flying from Mansdon? Does this airline fall into the low cost catprgy or something in between a low cost and a full service airline, they say they want to offer two classes. .luke

there is already another topic running on this...not again...they talk a lot, promise everything and do nothing. . .Without even an application for an AOC it will take about 12 months from now before the wheels may go up...if at all.. .Don't waste your time at all....

I wote, and got this reply -

Thank you for your enquiry regarding flights with MAMA. We are still finalising investment and capitalisation issues for the airline so cannot yet give a firm date for the commencement of services in 2002, but will contact you as soon as we are able to accept bookings. We were very much in a situation to go prior to September 11th. These events had obvious implications for airlines and particularly MAMA's investors. The situation has now markedly improved.

The MAMA Airlines website will remain the main source of up to the minute information on progress, accessible at www.mama-air.com.

As to schedules and pricing, these details are at an advanced stage, and I am attaching, in adobe acrobat format, the current weekly and seasonal schedule of services, although, obviously, these are not as yet set in stone.

MAMA's pricing structure is rather different to other airlines, in that the pricing structure will be easily understandable and based on . .the premise that the price you see advertised is the price you will pay. This may not always be cheaper than the cheapest deals sometimes . .available elsewhere (if you can book them!), but you will hopefully come out of the booking experience with MAMA in a different frame of . .mind than the experience all too common with the cheap carriers when one often feels that you've been in the hands of a street trader, not . .knowing what the price will be and faced with a complicated array of shifting prices.

I look forward to welcoming you onboard MAMA's services this year and certainly hope we will be able to satisfy your future travel requirements.

Yours sincerely

Craig Mackinlay
