A few days ago I posted a question about a story I heard regarding a China Airways (?) 747 landing at STN for re-fuel with an engine out.

The engine had been secured from windmilling using pax seatbelts prior to the flight. :uhoh:

Someone kindly confirmed the event had actually occured but it was a few years ago.

My thread was then deleted.. I suspect probably because the photos I included didn't confirm to pprune's standards (I apologise - I didn't realise at the time I made the post).

I have been searching pprune for details on this incredulous event and I was hoping someone may be able to provide me with a little more detail plse? Which year did this happen etc... A link to the AAIB report would be the ultimate response (I have looked for it myself as well as searched pprune).

Any help would be very welcome.

Thanks everyone,

Outlook - this is the reason PPP gave when he deleted your post

Repeat of several similar threads in past years.

and, yes the photos were also too large.

The engine in the picture was not on the aircraft, but on a maintenance frame.

The latest coverage of it was in July last year on this forum.

Not China Airways
