Hi all.

is there anyone on here who knows the routes flown by Ethiopian's b737ng aircraft? Which african routes do they use them on,and also, where,if anywhere,do they fly to in europe with the 737s?

thanks,Cb.

Ethiopian operates its 73Ws on many routes, although I am not aware of any instances where it has flown them to Europe in pax configuration (the head of state does use an ET 73W on his visits). ET operates them on regional routes throughout East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Djibouti, Sudan), and has operated them as far south as Johannesburg (which is now operated with a 763). The aircraft is also regularly used on routes to Tel Aviv, Beirut, Cairo, sometimes Dubai, and sometimes to Mumbai, although the latter are purely dependent on the particular day's loads, and is very rare. With the new schedule, they will also be flown to Libreville in Gabon and Douala Cameroon. Finally, the 73Ws are also flown domestically to the large cities of Dire Dawa, Bahr Dar, and Makalle, although they are only dispatched to these either when the loads demand it or there is lack of access to F50s. At times, the runway and facility conditions also do not allow them to operate the 73s domestically, forcing them to have two simultaneous F50s serving places like Bahr Dar.

Thank you very much!

That's very informative indeed.I have noticed the 763s at Johannesburg of late, and in a way it is a pity as the 73Ws look so good in ET colours.

Do you know if,when the 73Ws were operated to FAJS,there were any load restrictions for such long range? What would flying time be?
Are these direct flights between Addis and Joburg or do they still stop at Lusaka?

Thanks a million,
Cb
