I'm sure I've posted here before to ask, but search isn't revealing the thread ... sorry. I need to convert a Word file to .pdf format. Can anyone point me towards some a free softward download, please?

Or pdf995 - http://www.pdf995.com/ - my personal favourite when I was using MSWord. Installs as a printer driver so no hassles. $9.95 for the registered version (the free version works just fine) or a money-well-spent $19.95 to register the whole suite (Pdf995, PdfEdit995, and Signature995).

Now I mostly use OpenOffice 2.0, which has built-in PDF conversion.

Download open office, its free and the word processor has an option to export as a pdf. It opens word docs, and can save them as word files as well.

I also use CutePDF. Basically it installs as though it's a printer; when you wish to convert your MS Word document to a .pdf, just use 'File','Print' and then select the CutePDF option in your printer list. Doesn't take long - when it's finished just save it to wherever you wish.

But if you use it to create a .pdf version of a MS PowerPoint presentation, the file size could well become pretty big!
