Looking into my crystal ball what do i see?
Brisbane Heavy Maintenance - SOLD to Boeing, Boeing to bid for the right to maintain QANTAS aircraft. Still no business case has been approved for the right to be perform maintenance on QANTAS/JETSTAR A330s in the purpose built 767/A330 hangar. Contractors to be brought in to facilitate maintenance requirements.
Sydney Line 1 - To be turned into a Standalone Business Unit which will be required to bid for the right to perform super A checks/C checks on QANTAS aircraft. No more D checks.
Sydney International - Major shake up of current staffing. Roster to become 3on3off. Crews to become 35 strong of a composite variety. AMEs to become flavour of the month and many of the 767 airframe only lames to be told no longer required. GSE falling apart. Vehicles getting old. Any replacements?
Tullamarine - Docking has been relocated from tulla to avalon. WHY? 2 lines turned into 1. WHY? Expect to be told there is a job waiting for you at avalon or DCM.
All Line Stations - LAME less tarmac to be implemented after the commonwealth games. Substantial VR/CRs upcoming, roster changes to suit LAME less tarmac. Expect quite a bit of afternoon and night shifts. Look at how Jetcare and VirginTech run their shows for some inspiration on how it might be. Pushbacks to be carried out by baggage handlers.
