in anticipation of the inevitable collapse of SAS

Is there any truth to this?

At the risk of adding another layer to the thread before it even gets going, how would an SAS collapse (if it is likely, that is) affect it's deal with bmi (by which I mean it's deal to subsidise bmi's losses and the associated committment to eventually buy bmi out in partnership with Lufty)?

I think it is an over imaginative interpretation of the tea leaves left in a cup of tea! Nevertheless it is interesting in my career with a Very Large British Airline, I can recall in the last 15 years being lectured twice by other carrier pilots on how sad and how far the VLBA had fallen, how crap the pay was and how poor the service was. Once by a very arrogant old Danish SAS Captain in CPH and once by a Swissair man. At the time one agrees and zips one's lip, now I would so like to contact them with 'and you were saying?'

The catch might be the fact that SAS owns BMI, or part of it anyway..

However, dont mix up SAS as a whole and the airlines, the company owns several airlines now..( SAS-sweden, SAS-intercont, SAS-denmark, SAS/BU-norway, snowflake, Blue 1, Widroe, Spanair, Air botnia and parts of others like BMI.)

One can vanish and the others prosper, in theory..

SAS managements secret plan about how to tackle the unrest among the pilots leaked to media today. The plan is mass firings and forced transfer to national companies if they don't comply with management. The plan allso contains a timetable over when pilots will get an offer they have to accept, or .....get an interesting treatment
Then it remains to be seen who sinks the last nail in which coffin lid with that move........ :\

The group is doing much better these days. And so is everyone of the individual companies. So, there is no danger of insolvency, believe me. If you don't, check out 'investor relations' on the group website.

The problem, however, is that we, the pilots, are in the process of being raped by management. We will never accept this of course. If management proceeds with their plan we will adress this in the ensuing K-06 negotiations. And this might place the Scandinavian Airline companies(SASBU, SASDK, SASSE and SASIC) in a tight spot. A very tight spot.

Hi,

the group posted a SMALL profit for 2005. The black sheeps of the group is SASSE and SASDK who lost money. However, the budgets for 2006 projects a small profit and the point is that the TURNAROUND has succeeded.

Management is trying to convince the world that the group will fold if labour doesn't give up even more. NOT TRUE!!!!! We will make money this year, no doubt about it. The only remaining thing is for the pilots to be forced into the national companies. This is simply a case of 'mine is bigger than yours'. In other words, JL can say that he beat the pilots into submission.

We will not take this. If you plan to travel with SAS after april 1., it may be a good idea to have alternate travel arrangements.
