I go to Scotland this summer holiday and I want to make some nice pictures of Scottish helicopters there. I have allready made an appointmant at the Glasgow City Heliport to visit the ambulance- and police helicopter and I want to go to Glasgow Prestwick Airport to. I'll stay near perth in the first 2 weeks of august. Does anyone know some places where I can go to make some good pictures of helicopter or even a place where it's really worth it to make a flight in a helicopter?

There's a flying school at Perth Airport with Robinson R-22s, and quite a few colourful helicopters flying out of Aberdeen airport.

While on your travels, keep the camera handy, as you may see Apache and Lynx flying about.

Enjoy your visit.

A lot go up to the NW and fuel at Oban. Sea Kings, Gazelle, Lynx, Chinnook, Merlin, AH1, even some nice R44's

Hmmmn, how about the worlds busiest civilian heliport at Aberdeen ? Lots of daily movements of AS332L and L2, 214 ST , AS365N2 , EC225 and sometimes even S61. If you want a flight you can visit HJS helicopters at the Culter helipad.

Hey Gilian - come and pay us a visit at Cumbernauld.

Plenty of heli activity most days - commercial and training. Plenty of spectacular scenery too - mountains, Loch Lomond. I'm sure we can organise something.

Contact PDG helicopters, they operate out of Cumbernauld, you could take one of their scenic trips, or just try to find out what they are doing and catch them at work somewhere. If travelling North they are also in Inverness, or there is Specialist in Nairn. Or contact Oban, North Connell airfield to see if they are expecting any visitors.
