Hello Aviators.
After being rejected by Tyrolean last October, and thank God for not succeding their selection, based on stories I have heared that candidates are being sent home due to the planed expansion not going through, I am happy to anounce that I was hired last week by the company where I am currently working as a dispatcher. Yeap, begin March 06, I am starting my type rating course on B737 300/400. Just something I wanted to share with fellow ppruners. I have received some great advise from Pprune forums, and am thankfull for that. Hang in there and do not give up. I have thought million times on giving up, but kept on thinking positive.
Cheers.
Smoothflight.

Hi Manuel.
I got the job right here in Belgium, which worked out much better than would I have been selected by Tyrolean and would have to relocate to Austria.
With the company that offered me the job, type rating for B733 and B734, was offered at a reasonable price, much lower than you would expect to find from other companies. But I guess, it is for internal people only.
Were you hired by Tyrolean?
cheers.

Hi Smoothflight,

No I failed the selection and I don't know anyone from our group which made it.

Also I heard some really bad news from a guy who has been hired but 3 month before our selection. He still waits to start the type-rating and does not become an answer from Tyorlian. There are rumours that Tyrolian has internal problems with AUA, which wants their pilot in the Tyrolian cockpits.

Anyway a message to all people who pay over 340 € fee and two days to come to the selection: TYROLIAN JUST MAKES BUSINESS OUT OF THE SELECTIONS. They are at the moment UNABLE to provide any successfull candidate with a job. But of course you might come in a holding pool.

You were the guy in my group, discussing the subject "Internet". Not ?

Regards Manuel

Hi Manuel,
I think I remember you too. We did the group discussion together. Anyway
I think it was about Virtual reality. Anyway, My German really sucked, and while you guys were discussing this subject in German, I used English.
Anyway, the lady that was holding our group exercice was not bad looking. lol.
Take care.

Hey I was also at Tyrolean in September/oktober !
I had the "chance" to visit Innsbruck 3 times but finally "Raus!" at the final interview...
Now I just finished a 737 type rating and hope to have as much luck as some "Tyrolean" partner !:ok: :D

Hi Smootflight,

Yes exactly, we were in the same group :-) The woman was not bad looking but maybe a bit too old ...

Badly, I have nothing open :-(

I wish you all the best and good LUCK,

Manuel

-No, Tyrolean doesn't have any internal problems with Austrian.
-No, Austrian pilots don't want to take the cockpit positions of the Tyrolean guys.
-No, Tyrolean doesn't make money out of the selection process, that little funny looking guy from Innsbruck that calls himself a Psychiatrist, does.
-No, I don't wonder why you didn't get the job, because you dont even know how to spell the name of the company right.

- how long should the holding pool last ? I heard 2 years is that possible ?!!

austria was not JAA until 2006, so guys who 've forked 300 euro in their stupid tests on PC have just wasted their money, ...

so YES, tyrolean airways make money from you!

A320Rider : No offense, but it really seems like reading you all along the Pprune forums, you speak a lot about what you have no idea about.
The fact that Tyrolean/Austria is or was not JAA has nothing to do with the 360 euro for the selektion.
As a matter of fact, the licence conversion was done in 2 weeks...!

Nevertheless, it is clear that if it is not the Airline whitch is making money out of the selektion fees, some individuals at leat do !
