Anyone had a look at the revised crew meal allowance in Glasgow?
It's gone DOWN!
Must be the global inflation rate that's OBVIOUSLY affecting this decision.

New layover station, Hamburg - Germany: Cost of hotel dinner buffet = EUR30.00, EK crew get 35% discount = EUR19.50
Guess what we get paid for a dinner in Hamburg?? Surprise, surprise.... EUR19.50!
Guys, you are now FORCED to have the hotel buffet dinner unless you wanna be out of pocket.

DISGUSTING EMIRATES, YOU'RE TURNING OVER RECORD PROFITS AND STILL YOU'RE PENNY PINCHING BY DEDUCTING DISCOUNTS OFFERED BY HOTELS TO THE CREW FROM THEIR ALLOWANCES!
THE HOTEL DISCOUNTS ARE FOR THEM, NOT FOR YOU!

Hey, don't blame the company. The company does nothing (what is THE company?).

Its the sad tozzers in the relevant departments who think that they as a individual or 2 can increase their annual profit margin (=BONUS) and don't give a toss at the thousands of employees it affects.

This is why the company is on its way down, the workforce have learnt the going ons from the top and have tried to apply it to customer relations. Guess what, like managers to workforce, employees to pax = dont give a tozz either (it generally appears), just pretend to be a pax on staff travel, awful. Well it is the HQ interpersonal relations strategy and we are only following the example shown to us.

Warlock 2000 EK got the idea of only paying coffee shop prices less the crew discount from Gulf Air who paid allowances on that basis when I was there. Disgusting I quite agree.

They took 50 p out of our allowance in GLA, it's not that much, but just for my own sake I take always min 2t extra fuel and fly .83 min speed.
I know it is very childish and stupid but it makes me feel better, at least I know they are not making any money extra on me.

They changed the credit system in december 2004, the reduced the overtime treshold by 5 hours a month, that makes 60 hours a year, but they shafted us big time, because no more 2.5 hours credit for leave, ground school, simulator etc.
That all together is about 160 hours minus the 60 hours, that means I loose 100 hours overtime times 400 hours equals 40.000 dirhams less a year.

I guess you just discovered that you are in the wrong place for that...just be glad they didnīt rape you.

Much worse has happened in the past at EK.

The price of croissants and coffee MUST have dropped in Paris because I've just noticed that the pittance of an EK breakfast allowance has just gone DOWN!

I was obviously right, inflation worldwide IS going down!

Guys....why the whinge about the allowances. The issue of inflation in Dubai will outstrip anything else EK pays you. Rents going up at least 15% a year or else they evict you and rent it out at a higher price to the next person. Highways being built through housing communities (its none of the residents business....quoted in the newspapers!). For those of you thinking of joining, get used to the real desert as that is where your accom will be...Silicon (sand) Valley!!! Inflation gone up about 50-60% over the past 7-8 yrs but didn't see more than a 10% payrise in my pay packet all these years. As mentioned in another thread, pollution, cultural issues, rising living costs, mismanagement of staff by EK (fatigue, extension of duty hrs on a regular basis, working on days off/leave, my family doesn't even see me anymore) make it difficult to be here. Lastly, the important issue of dangerous driving...where else in the world have you seen so many accidents in one day or a week usually resulting from speeding idiots (vehicles usually with dark window tinting!!!). Big picture gents!!!

In todays paper, "they are thinking of allowing tinting of more than the 30% max for lady drivers."..WTF.....You know it makes sense..

Hi boys,

Happy to give a few extra track miles on 124.9 to bring the profit down, we will give you early speed restrictions, forcing flaps out at 60nm will this help ?

Seems the guys counting your beans and our guys are the same, some ATC's here have to pay in on their accommodation every month. Some so much that it equate to a months salary!!!!!!! So 12months you work but only paid for 11

Great hey!

Are they going to tint the windows on the new 380's?
