Hi all

I was wondering if there is anyone on pprune who flies or has flown piper Cheyenne's?
I'm just trying to gauge how much it would cost to be rated on one? I have been told figures around £8,000 but this was purely a guesstimate.

Thanks in Advance

Yes, it's about right.

But what's the point of spending £8,000 on an aircraft which is not produced any more and being phased out by most European charter operators?

Better go for a BE20 type rating...

And unless you've got over 700 hours, including ?100? Multi Engine IFR... and contacts amongst people who operate Cheyennes, you will find it difficult to find work.

The PA31-350T is a single pilot aircraft, and as such most operators' AOCs will stipulate that the commander must have at least 700 hours etc etc. In this case, it's not insurance- it's the CAA.
