Hope you rotorheads are flying safe! I was directed to this site by an Old Timer who thought someone here might be able to give me some guidance. I am doing a ferry flight from Mexico baja pacific side down to Panama City Panama and am looking for any help planning this international ferry. Anyone who could give me information on permits required to fly through certain countries, fuel stops(I know not alot), aircraft handling companies and general information of flying for the following countries(Mex. Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador and Panama) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.

You will need an over flight and landing permit for each country. Make sure you have a copy of each countrys permission with you. Pay for fuel normally in local currency or US dollars. Have a lot of small bills with you for change. normally credit cards are not excepted and the place that do accept requires the registration number of the aircraft to be on the card.

This is the web site for the international flight manual:

http://www.faa.gov/ats/aat/ifim/index.htm

hope this helps.

Contact Thomas Exenberger at Helipan in Panama. They've flown a few aircraft from Robinson factory to Panama. www.helipan.com (http://www.helipan.com) or (507) 315-0452 / 0453. There chief pilot Thomas Jackets is a very experienced pilot. I flew with him a couple of years ago. I know it helps if you speak spanish, but ATC in Panama are bi-lingual.
