Can any of you experts out there (hello Nick) explain why some helis with teetering heads have stabiliser bars (Bell 47, 212 etc) and some don't (206). I have to give a groundschool brief on the 212 and am bound to be asked the question by some clever-dick student. Thanks in advance. OB

I'm told that the 206 has such a long mast that the moment arm is long enough not to need a bar. Would welcome being corrected!

Oldbeefer,

Get even with the silly fellows....ask them where the Bell 47 parts are located on the 212/412?

sas's answer will be, found hanging onto the sticks, with rheumy eyes and sagging beltlines.
