BRAVO 1 – 9 FUEL LINE CLOSURE

Please be advised that the fuel line on aircraft parking bays B1 to B9 has been closed due to a problem that was recently identified on this section of the line. This has called for a 1 month closure of the line while we conduct investigations and maintenance. The bays can still be used for parking of aircraft, however no hydrant fuel service is available.

Due to the time constraint associated with tanker refueling of scheduled aircraft and to minimize inconvenience to our stakeholders, the apron office will only allocate flights to B1 – B9 as a last resort. Should this happen it will be communicated to the airline. Shell will also be advised to ensure that they can react to minimize any possible delays. As usual, aircraft that are refueled using a bowser will continue to make use of these affected bays.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Kind regards,

Dumisani Hlazo

Thanks for the info GF/Jack although I hope never to have to use those parking bays, a bit small for b737's, but the link and express drivers definately need this info. On a similar topic of fuel, heard SAA201? inbound today 26th jan calling/begging for shorter routing but no explanation or reason why, could it be that they were once again stretching fuel reserves to the max after their ocean crossing?

Bravo! Yes Bravo!

Spoories, heard about fist fights in the cockpit regarding fuel or lack thereof, old days when flying round Africa, whether to land asap or to stretch the ride, because Captain want's his own bed!

Well Captain's discretion, they never actually had a shorty due to excess air in the tanks, come to think of it....:ok:
