Help if anyone can. My aged mother flies regularly to Durban to see her even more aged sister. Finds Heathrow a bit of a struggle with rush hour arrival and exits these days so on looking around on her behalf for direct flight to Joburg, Nationwide popped up, out from Gatwick, close to where she lives. I've never heard of them.
And a cracking price for what appears to be old-style business class or Virgin style premium.
Question is, has anyone got experience or knowledge of this carrier?. Would love to send her up front on BA but as appears the norm these days Joburg is one of those airports thats near impossible to use air-miles for the premium cabins.

They are supposed to be very good! However, it is difficult to buy tickets out of the UK as they are a South African carrier with no real ticketing set up here!

Try getting hold of AVIANCE at Gatwick Airport - they are their handling agent and may be able to point you in the right direction of how to get hold of tickets!

The Gatwick Airport switchboard is 0870 000 2468 - ask to be put you through to the "AVIANCE TICKET DESK IN THE NORTH TERMINAL"

Good Luck!!!

Have a look at http://www.flynationwide.co.za/ if you want info on this airline

The airline has worked as a domestic in ZA for many years and I have used them occasionally. Within ZA they have a good reputation. I have not used the LGW service.

I have flown with nationwide a couple of times in SA and I personally think they are one of the top airlines. The service was always friendly, the aircraft clean. I have never flown long haul with them, but think it would be a good choice.

Tell us what you mom thinks when she gets back :ok:
