Just (4pm CST, 22/1/06) tracked-spotted a Boeing 777 (with Boeing call sign; Emirate-like livery) paying a 10 minute visit to Alice Springs, and then flying out to Cairns. Apparently an experimental trip. Who knows what about the exercise?

Yeh common enough ocurrence to get a/c out there to see how they handle the heat - and it does get heat out there

It does a bit, 39degrees C at the moment. Makes me fairly content with the 6degrees here, apart from the cold hands.

I've found some specific info on this topic on the Middle East forum, ref: "Ethiad 777 in Cairns".

EDIT: Thanks for 'spotting' that MASP: here's (http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=209721) the link. This one now closed.
