Get a medical first, then turn up at a Transport Canada Office to see what you will require - suggest you get a digest of your hours notarised before you leave SA. Then take the exams and do the checkride, for which you will need a letter of recommendation (unless you are ex-mil) from your local friendly instructor.
The exams can be done any day during office hours, but it's best to do them in the morning so the answers and replies can be faxed back and forward to Ottawa and you get your results the same day.
Any other questions just email me
