Hiya

I read in the Midland Metro paper this morning that it turned back due to a drunken Irish passenger, who first started a verbal argument with a passenger and then went on to smash the toilet up. He was restrained by CC and passengers. The Captain diverted to Sanford for "the safety of the passengers and aircraft".

The passengers were put up in hotels and are due back in the UK this morning. I think it said the flight had departed from Mexico - but this is the Midland Metro :)

The FBI said a man is due in court in connection with the incident.

Cheers,

easy.

Bogus info..........You said it! Maybe you should find a different rag to read in the morning.

Rafal Krawczyk was the guy's name........not a typical irish name as, in fact he is polish.

Polish man living in Northern Ireland I believe, just a saw a snippet of it on Newsline headlines, including video clip from the aircraft of him being escorted off the aircraft.

Well, this is my company, my aircraft and my colleagues that were attacked, so I'll take this opportunity to say "Well Done" to them. It is a very frightening experience for anybody to deal with, especially for those that may be 19 years old and five foot four in their heels (although I notice at least one steward collecting up the extension seat belts that assisted the man in staying seated against his will).

The best news is that the diversion tool place into SFB: Loads of hotel rooms, with engineering and crews available to recover. Best of all, a nation that takes attacks on crew seriously, and actively seeks to protect crew and punish miscreants heavily. If only other countries could be as robust - like Britain, to start with... :hmm:

Calm down a bit Booke23. I didn’t intentionally post bogus info, I genuinely didn’t know at the time there had been two separate incidents involving Thomsonfly aircraft. I usually read the Times (a great read). I had a mental lapse that day and I decided to grab a free Midland Metro – a mistake I shall never repeat! What a load of

I saw some interviews with passengers arriving back at EGBB on central news last night, they all seemed a bit shook up by it all, as to be expected. Central news said if found guilty, he could face up to 20 years in the slammer! Serves him right I say!

Cheers,
