Trying find an old AAIB report but cant suss out how to search on the new site.

Im looking for an r22 crash back in 1992 dingle ireland, i think it ditched into the drink. any help appreciated

They only ever put back to about 1996 on the web, prior to that you need to find a suitable library.

If all else fails, phone AAIB on 01252-510300 and ask for the information room, I've always found them very helpful if you've got a good reason for having the information.

:confused: So why would a crash that occured in Ireland ,to an Irish registered machine be investigated by the AAIB ??
Try the AAIU (Irish!!) but they may not go back that far on the net either. Did read the paper report though !

UK Reportable Accident : Loud bang together with rapid yaw to left & total power loss. Autorotative ditching in sea. No injuries.

Abrupt left yaw had occurred at 1500ft after take off & then again at 1000ft after carb heat applied. Investigation by Irish authorities.

You will have to write to the AAIU to obtain a copy of accident involving EI-XMC. It occurred 31/5/92. 1 fatal. Owner claimed sabotage, but was proved false. Owner was convicted and banned from flying for 7 yrs.
