Agree with Iceweed. Chances are better it will cost you less to ferry it than damage incurred during shipping.
Lots of qualified drivers on this forum.....

Could charter in an IL76 for that job. PM me and i'll get you a price / availability.
As for flying or shipping it - you shouldnt get any damage on it, if you have a decent forwarder (Again, i can do that too if you like).

Daede!
Just to satisfy my curiosity. Your saying you could charter an IL-76 cheaper than a ferry flight from Cairo to Lagos..........?
Wow

Probably be a bit more expensive, but not much. We fly helicopters regularly, as the shippers find its easier to charter than go through the hassle of ferrying.

I've had some major difficulties trying to ferry a AS350 from France to SA, got stuck in Luxor because Sudan didn't want to grant overflight clearances, so war zones generally is not a good idea. As to the 76 option we've been moving AS350 around the world in the 76's with no damage or hassle, all that's required is to remove the blades and the 76's internal crane does the rest.(just remember blade boxes) Takes about 30min to load two.

Hope this helps.

Schenker are poop, and are also just a freight forwarder. You need a charter broker who knows what they are doing. PM me.

Air Freight does sound appealing. One may wish to contact Gerry Broberg at CAA. I know he has recently ferried something down from France. Overflights can be a problem, but if your planning on one give him a shout, maybe he can fill in some blanks........
