View Full Version : My e-mail wont send/receive

I have a problem with sending and receiving e-mails in Outlook 2003 on my home laptop.

A colleague of mine, who shall rename nameless as he lurks here, sent me a huge e-mail, about 1.6M, full of photos. I started to pull it in as usual but the poor computer just gave up after a minute or so and gave an error mesage along the lines of 'timed out from server'.

I then accessed my e-mails from the Wanadoo (my ISP) home page and discovered this huge email. I was able to read it there, download the photos and then delete it.

But back in Outlook 2003, any attempt to send/receive e-mails just pops up a window of tasks which endlessly churn away and produce nothing. I've tried deleteing that account and creating a new one - to no avail. I've tried accessing through Outlook Express with no success.

So my problem is that I can access e-mail through Wanadoo, but not through Outlook, which is what I want to do!

Not being au fait with the workings of e-mail, I'm assuming there is a pigeonhole on the wanadoo server with my name on it and this huge file is jammed in there. And until I get it shifted, nothing can move in or out.

Any ideas please?? Anyone got a helpline number for wanadoo?
