Not much, but better than nothing.

Interjet is based out of MMTO. Pay is supposed to be really low.

Click! is Mexicana's LCC. You have to be an ASPA member, and the minimum is 500TT.

Avolar... that's probably Carlos Slim's new airline. Don't know much about it.

Aerolitoral is hiring and Mexicana is (finally) recalling. Before to get your hopes up too high, note that you need to hold a Mexican passport and birth certificate.

Interjet has acquired 20 Airbus A-320's-- they are to be based in Toluca
Aparently, currently hiring for a class date in Miami on January 16th. A three-year training bond is a condition with the employment.
Pay, as 7777 mentioned, is low. $20,000 Pesos per month before taxes. No health insurance or other typical airline benefits. They also require you to buy your own vaseline. :hmm:

Aparently, a number of people applying-- AeroCalifornia seems to be on hard times. The face of the Latin American airline industry is slowly changing.

i´m a mexican living in europe so the citizinship nor the birth certificate is a problem , but the payment doesn´t really seem to be that atractive yet!
let´s wait and see!!

vuela is what will be volaris , which in turn will start ops from toluca as of march 13 or 16 i think.
sounds like a solid idea , they are planning to order 50 a319 ( 16 with an option of further 40) . Carlos Slim is behind it together with grupo taca and televisa ! Things are starting to look better in my mexico , hopefully it keeps on growing!

Just a little more info, from Mexico.

Interjet, based in MMTO, Salary: owner Miguel Aleman. 3500k usd a month. They are hiring pilots with mexican licenses, +500 hrs TT and min 300 hrs jet/EFIS for FO, compagny and airbus requirement, valid until they have established an airbus training center in mexico.

avuela/volaris: owner Pedro Aspe and Carlos Slim. Salary unknown, FO same as interjet. Tests are basicaly the lying detector, psychologic evaluation, eye to hand coordination, flying skills and oral test in weather, airline notams, jeppesen charts.

azteca is hiring, min flight time 500 valid hrs.

New airlines, GOL, sep 06. Aerobus, july 06.

FOs will be promoted to CAP after around 6 months. They are using old experienced captains for the first 6 - 8 months, so the FOs get experience and can fly as captains after the first 6-8 months. Non experienced can expect promotion to cap in around 2-3 years

Note you cannot be a mexican pilot if you have two passports, mexican constitution prohibits any foreign citizen or anyone with 2 passports to be a pilot. But you can get around it by:

1- Do the mexican pilot training in mexico and NEVER show any other passport.
2- Do the convertion, with a license that says you are mexican, NEVER turn anything in that says you have an other nationality, takes around 4 months for paperwork to go through in mexico. they don't like to convert licenses.

WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY FROM THE ALEMANS!!
LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE BEING WRONGLY ADVICED BY GROUND SATFF ABOUT SALLARY AND CONDITIONS..... PROBABLLY NO IDEA THAT WITH 500 HRS ALL THEIR PILOTS WILL MIGRATE!

You're probably right, I know a pilot who's comming back from the A320 course in Miami for interjet but before leaving he was offered, the course, plus 15k usd, a tottal of 60 usd for moving to an other airline and work for the same salary and conditions as with interjet. I don't doubt there a race for the good pilots, specially when volaris is planing on getting 57 airplanes and interjet around 50 too.

Now aerolitoral is also adding new EMB to their fleet and are hiring more pilots.

AND IF YOU ADD THAT ANOTHER 8 WILL BE RECALLED BACK TO MEXICANA, YOU FIGURE OUT THAT THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE OF SCREENING HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT THJEY ARE DOING, THAT IS VERY UNFORTUNATE FOR INTERJET, THEY HAVE THE BUCKS BUT LACK THE "KNOW HOW"
