hi all.
flying quite often between fajs and omdb,as well as to bahrain,i've noticed a track overflying DV VOR at Dar es Salaam is taken. Now flight time is around 4h20 for that as you leave SA airspace at GWV.Flights directly to DAR exit it at EPSEK (way off to the east of GWV) and arrive overhead DAR with a flight time of only about 3h40.Why take the much longer route that passes near Harare as opposed to a much more direct one?
Checked the Jepp and the shorted route seems much more sensible.Anyone fly this route and know why?
Also,is there a lot of traffic on 126.9 up that way?
Cheers,Cb
