Hi guys! For those of you who are working for either company, in reality, do they scheduled you where your flying is maximised within the shortest amount of time, which means that you'd have more than the minimum 10 days off per month? Also, as you do get hired as a F/O, and the upgrade is certainly not guaranteed but definitely possible, what is the general time to command for both/ either company? NCA has huge expansion plan with the order of the -400F's and -8F's, which means that the time to cammand would be accelerated. What about Air Japan? Is there any Japanese politics/ pilot union involvement in the process, as this is an issue at another Japanese carrier based in Alohaland? Any info. would be much appreciated.

Hi CFIT,

Last year, NYY has bought NCA from ANA. So, they are no more ANA group.
This means they don't have any problem against ANA union, I beleave.
Anyway, did you transit from 744 to 737?

Al of what you are concerned about plus more are a reality in Air Japan. If you want to work for a japanese operator, it is a no brainer, NCA wins hands down. I have worked for AJX since the beginning. It is like route canal work, can't wait for it to end. Not long now though. Would consider working for NCA at the end of my contract, even as an F/O rather than renew as a captain with Air Japan.
Give that a long hard think.
Good luck

They were formally the joint major shareholder in NCA, along with ANA. Last year they bought out ANA's stake to become the sole major shareholder.
